The 69th Urban Race and the 41st Walking Trophy of the Nerja Fair will take place this Sunday, 27th September, starting at 10:00, with both the start and finish at the Balcón de Europa. The Department of Sports and the Nerja Athletics Club are organising an event that marks its 69th and 41st editions respectively.
The Sports Councillor, Alberto Tomé; the Councillor for Major Festivities, Elena Gálvez; the founding partner of the Nerja Athletics Club, Enrique López Cuenca; and the main sponsor, Damián Toboso, from Todos Hotels, presented the day's programme.
López Cuenca detailed that the 10,000 and 5,000 metre races will start at 10:00 and that the Walking Trophy will begin at 12:00, with events in various categories.
“The Nerja Urban Race is the oldest in Andalusia and is one of the most significant events on our athletic calendar,” stated Alberto Tomé.
The Sports Councillor added that they hope “athletes, fans, and locals enjoy a great day of athletics in the streets of Nerja.” The race will maintain its route through the municipality with the Balcón de Europa as its epicentre.
