From July 23 to August 21, San Pedro Alcántara hosts the sixth edition of the Month of Performing Arts with seven free shows in squares, beaches, and promenades. The programme includes theatre, dance, and circus for all audiences.

The Culture Delegation of San Pedro Alcántara, in collaboration with the Andalusian Network of Public Theatres, has launched the sixth edition of the Month of Performing Arts (MAE), a cycle of outdoor shows that will run until August 21. The initiative offers seven free performances in various locations throughout the town, aiming to bring the performing arts closer to the community during the summer.

The programme kicked off on July 23 at the Monument to Las Cañas with the play ISLA by the D’Click company, a proposal that combines theatre and dance. The next events will take place on July 30 and 31 at Paseo Las Palmeras, where Mundo Costroni will present HUMANUS CUMICUS and NONAS, both at 20:30 hours.

In August, the programme moves to other corners of the municipality. On August 6, Plaza de la Libertad will host PIES DE GALLINA by Ana F. Melero and Luna, at 21:00 hours. Two days later, on August 8, Playa La Salida will be the stage for CARICATOS by La Belle Epoque, at 20:30 hours.

The final stretch of the MAE includes LULLABY by Proyecto Kavauri on August 13 at the Boulevard Amphitheatre, at 21:00 hours. The grand finale will be LA CABRA by El Espejo Negro on August 21 at Plaza de Istán, at 20:30 hours.

According to sources from the organisation, all performances are free to enter until capacity is reached. The variety of spaces – from squares and promenades to the beach – aims to allow the audience to enjoy the performing arts in a familiar and accessible environment. The cycle is aimed at all audiences, with shows that combine humour, emotion, and creativity.

The MAE is establishing itself as a summer cultural event in San Pedro Alcántara, offering an accessible leisure alternative for residents and visitors. The collaboration with the Andalusian Network of Public Theatres allows for the inclusion of nationally renowned companies.

For more information, interested parties can check the programme on the website of the Culture Delegation of San Pedro Alcántara. It is recommended to arrive early to secure a good spot, as no prior reservation is required.
