The Starlite Occident Marbella festival faces one of its most intense weeks with six consecutive concerts from July 27 to August 1. Ozuna, Manuel Turizo, Rosario Flores, Rosana, Zucchero, and Ara Malikian will perform at the Cantera de Nagüeles.
The Cantera de Nagüeles in Marbella is preparing to welcome six top-tier artists in a week that promises to be one of the highlights of the Starlite Occident programme. From Monday, July 27 to Saturday, August 1, the festival will offer concerts every night featuring a range of genres from urban music to blues, pop, rock, and flamenco.
The violinist Ara Malikian will kick off the series on Monday, July 27. The Lebanese musician of Armenian descent returns to Marbella with his characteristic fusion of styles that combines classical music with jazz, flamenco, tango, and other international influences. His energetic performance is one of the evening's main attractions.
Born in Beirut in 1968, Malikian grew up during the Lebanese civil war and found refuge in the violin. His talent allowed him to give his first major concert at the age of 12, and he later trained in Germany and London. His career has made him one of the most original violinists in today's music scene.
On Tuesday, July 28, Zucchero, one of the great figures of European rock and blues, will take the stage. The Italian singer, with over four decades of career, will revisit iconic tracks such as 'Senza una donna', 'Baila (Sexy Thing)', 'Il volo', and 'Overdose (D’Amore)'. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists like Eric Clapton, Sting, Bono, Ray Charles, Brian May, and Luciano Pavarotti.
Urban music will take over on Wednesday, July 29, with the return of Ozuna. The Puerto Rican artist, who previously performed at the festival's fifteenth edition, returns to the Cantera de Nagüeles with a repertoire that includes hits like 'La Farsante', 'Dile que tú me quieres', 'Se Preparó', and 'Hey Mor'. Ozuna has established himself as one of the most recognisable voices in Latin music, with a style that blends reggaeton, trap, bachata, R&B, and dembow.
On Thursday, July 30, Colombian Manuel Turizo will take his turn, having become an international star of urban pop. The singer, who rose to fame with 'Una lady como tú', will deliver a live show built around his biggest Latin hits. His style fuses tropical rhythms with pop and reggaeton.
On Friday, July 31, Rosana, the Canary Islands singer-songwriter known for songs like 'El talismán' and 'Sin miedo', will perform. Her music, which combines pop with touches of folk and world music, has won a loyal audience for over three decades. Rosana will offer an intimate concert revisiting her most emblematic songs.
The grand finale will be provided by Rosario Flores on Saturday, August 1. The Madrid artist, one of the most distinctive voices in the national scene, will perform tracks from her long career, which spans pop, flamenco, and rock. Her powerful and heartfelt performance is one of the most anticipated of the week.
Starlite Occident Marbella is held every summer at the Cantera de Nagüeles, an outdoor space that combines nature and music. The festival, which began in 2012, has established itself as a must-visit event for music lovers on the Costa del Sol. This week's programme reflects the commitment to genre variety that characterises the festival.
