Marbella celebrated the XIII edition of the Moraga Popular on Thursday, distributing around 1,700 kilos of sardines at four locations along the coast. The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, highlighted the festive atmosphere and the employment situation during the high season.

The XIII edition of the Moraga Popular brought together hundreds of locals and visitors on Thursday at four locations along the Marbella coastline. The City Council, in collaboration with the Cofradía de Pescadores, distributed approximately 1,700 kilos of sardines on skewers, along with 1,000 kilos of chopped tomato salad, bread, and drinks.

The event took place simultaneously on the beaches of La Salida in San Pedro Alcántara; Levante in Puerto Banús; La Venus in Marbella; and Real de Zaragoza in Las Chapas. The aim is to bring the event closer to different areas of the municipality.

The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, stated that the initiative "takes place in Marbella, San Pedro Alcántara, Nueva Andalucía, and Las Chapas" and emphasized that "what we aim for is for families to enjoy and share a night by the sea after a wonderful summer."

"That is what satisfies us the most, that we can talk about a record year and very positive occupancy figures"

Muñoz appreciated the employment situation over the past few months and thanked all the individuals and entities that make the Moraga Popular possible, with special mention to "the affection and enthusiasm with which everyone collaborates." She also congratulated the Cofradía de Pescadores for the quality of the served product.

The organization involved establishments such as La Taberna del Alabardero, Paradise Beach, Pepe's Bar, and Siroko. The well-established event also serves to recognize the work of professionals in the tourism sector coinciding with the end of the high season.
