The Town Hall of Fuengirola has launched www.somosfuengirola.es, a portal that integrates local guides written by residents and advanced technology for smarter tourism promotion.

The new tourist portal of Fuengirola, www.somosfuengirola.es, is now live. The Town Hall presented it this Wednesday as a platform that goes beyond the typical resource website for visitors: it aims to tell the city from within, through the eyes of those who live there.

The Councillor for Tourism, José Luis Ponce, and the Councillor for Innovation, Isabel González, explained that the project is launched under the brand 'Somos Fuengirola'. “It is not simply a tourism page, but a new way of telling Fuengirola,” Ponce noted.

A website with local soul

The website includes a section of local guides, where residents and people connected to the city share their favourite spots, recommendations, and experiences. The tourism blog will be updated weekly with articles, itineraries, and curiosities.

“Fuengirola is a tourist city, but it is much more than a holiday destination. It is a city with history, traditions, lively neighbourhoods, and a very special way of welcoming,” Ponce highlighted. The goal is for visitors to know, respect, and integrate into the local identity.

Technology at the service of the destination

Behind the portal is the company Simpleview/Granicus Destinations, specialised in technology for tourist destinations. Its ecosystem includes CMS, CRM, data analysis, and marketing tools, used by over 900 international destinations.

The CMS will allow the Town Hall to manage content flexibly and update sections, events, and articles in real time. The CRM and data analysis will help understand visitor behaviour: which content is most interesting, from which markets inquiries come, and what trends will guide future promotions.

For readers in the province of Málaga, this website represents a window to discover Fuengirola beyond sun and beach. Residents of the Costa del Sol will be able to check the events agenda, routes, and family spaces, while tourism professionals will find a dedicated area with strategic information.

Space for professionals

The portal includes a specific area for tourism professionals, with useful information for the sector and tools to strengthen destination coordination. “This website helps us show the world the city we are: modern, open, welcoming, proud, and alive,” concluded Isabel González.

The platform is already operational and will be enriched with new content. Anyone wanting to feel like a Fuengiroleño for a while just needs to enter and let themselves be guided by the recommendations of those who know the city best.
