The Fuengirola City Council promotes family reconciliation with the Corresponsables Plan, which this summer serves 48 minors aged between 3 and 16 years.

The Fuengirola City Council keeps the Corresponsables Plan active during the summer, a municipal resource supporting family and work-life balance that currently benefits 48 children in the municipality. The initiative, aimed at families with minors aged between 3 and 16 years, offers support and activities tailored to each age group.

The councillors for Families, Equality and Social Welfare and Sports, Cristina Bornao and Julio Rodríguez, visited one of the sessions taking place at the Elola Sports Complex yesterday, where participants combine sports, leisure and educational proposals. Multisport activities are held three days a week, supervised by five specialised monitors, and are complemented by outings to the beach and other leisure initiatives.

Bornao explained that the programme is designed for families that need to balance their work and personal lives, and that the service adapts to the needs of each participant. “The aim is to provide families with a useful resource that allows them to face their daily responsibilities with greater peace of mind,” the councillor stated.

Since the launch of the Corresponsables Plan in 2023, a total of 174 minors have benefited from this service in Fuengirola. The councillor highlighted the Government team's commitment to municipal policies supporting families.

For his part, Julio Rodríguez emphasised that each family has different needs, so the service adjusts schedules and attention to provide real support. “Each family has different needs, so the service adapts its schedules and the attention it provides to offer real support when it is most needed,” the councillor indicated.

The Corresponsables Plan complements the municipal offer for summer reconciliation, which includes the Sports Campus from the Sports Department, the Summer School of Education, and Youth Camps. While these activities take place in the morning, the Corresponsables Plan provides service in the afternoons, thus covering reconciliation throughout the entire day.

Interested families must be registered in Fuengirola and demonstrate the need to reconcile their family and work lives. Information can be requested in person at the municipal Social Services, with prior appointment, or via the designated email.
