The Elola Sports Complex in Fuengirola will host the I Hybrid Run on September 12, a hybrid fitness competition that merges endurance running with functional strength exercises. The Councillor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez, and the event organiser, Daniel Martín, have presented this new competition, which is integrated into the ‘Fuengirola en Forma’ programme.

The competition will be open to participants aged 12 and over and offers the possibility to compete in pairs, as a family, or individually. The categories are adapted to the level and age of each athlete, with the aim of making the experience accessible to different profiles.

The format of the event differs from conventional races: participants will have to overcome various physical challenges that combine running with functional exercises, testing their endurance and strength. This modality aims to bring new fitness trends closer to the public.

The I Hybrid Run adds to the municipal sports offerings that kick off in September with ‘Fuengirola en Forma’, a programme that aims to introduce innovative disciplines and formats of physical activity. The Sports Department encourages residents and visitors of all ages to participate in this experience.

Registrations are already open through the organisation's website, time2run.es/the-hybrid-run-2. The event reinforces Fuengirola's commitment to sport as a tool for healthy habits, leisure, and community.

“We continue to expand ‘Fuengirola en Forma’ with new trends, new formats, and different sporting experiences. We want all our residents to find an activity that motivates them and to enjoy sport regardless of their age or level,” said the Councillor for Sports, who thanked the organisation for choosing the town to host this event.
