The passage of the peloton through the urban area is scheduled between 15:00 and 17:00, with restrictions on the main roads from 13:30 to 18:30. Schools for infants and primary education and municipal nursery schools will finish at 13:00.
Estepona faces the arrival of the 19th stage of La Vuelta Ciclista a España on Friday 11 September, which will traverse the urban area and finish at the summit of Peñas Blancas-Los Reales. The Town Hall has organised a special security and traffic operation that will limit circulation on the roads of the route between 13:30 and 18:30.
The race is expected to pass through the urban area approximately between 15:00 and 17:00, although the Council warns that this may vary depending on the progress of the stage and the indications of the Guardia Civil and the organisation.
The peloton's route enters from the A-7 (direction Marbella-Estepona, exit at kilometre 1.067) and continues along Avenida Litoral, Avenida de España, Paseo Marítimo Pedro Manrique, back to Avenida de España, Avenida del Carmen, Avenida Puerta del Mar, Cibernética Roundabout, Calle Ricardo Ortega, Plaza San Fernando, Calle San Fernando, Avenida Andalucía, Avenida de Los Reales and the MA-8301 road towards Peñas Blancas and Los Reales, with the finish line next to the viewpoint of the statue of Carlos Martínez.
The Town Hall asks residents to remove parked vehicles from the designated areas of the route in advance, plan their movements, and use alternative routes. To facilitate mobility, municipal nursery schools and the city's infant and primary education centres will finish classes at 13:00.
The municipal brigades have temporarily removed streetlights, vertical signs, plastic bollards, and concrete elements to enable the passage of cyclists. The roundabout at Calle Teatro has also been temporarily removed, and the one at Calle Terraza has been trimmed. On Avenida España, pavements have been repaired by replacing damaged tiles and cobblestones, and a ramp is planned next to the Mirador del Carmen tower.
The Parks and Gardens department is reinforcing the green spaces along the route and has planted palm trees, palmettos, and ornamental vegetation on Avenida Litoral and other points where the peloton will pass. The stage will be broadcast in nearly 190 countries, with an estimated accumulated audience of over 450 million viewers throughout the competition.
On Friday, 3,000 t-shirts made by the Town Hall will be distributed for free. The distribution will start at 12:00 at three locations: at the Town Hall entrance and at the beginning of Calle Terraza by Avenida España, as reported by the Town Hall.
The organisation will also set up the Parque Vuelta, a Fan Zone area with stands where event materials will be distributed, on Avenida España, between the children's play area and Calle Delfín.
