The Town Hall of Casares has completed the lighting of the section between Arroyo La Jordana and Casares del Mar with 20 high-efficiency solar LED streetlights.
The Town Hall of Casares announced this week the completion of the new lighting installation in the coastal walkway section between Arroyo La Jordana and Casares del Mar. The project involved the installation of 20 new solar streetlights, finally completing the lighting of this route along the sea, which is heavily used by residents and visitors.
The project has maintained the model of luminaire already in operation in other areas of Casares Costa, featuring high-efficiency solar LED streetlights that incorporate an intelligent operating system. When they detect the presence of people, they increase the light intensity; in the absence of movement, they reduce it to 50%, ensuring permanent safety lighting with very low energy consumption.
With this intervention, the council continues its plan to improve the public lighting network and eliminate poorly lit areas in the coastal zone of the municipality. This measure enhances the safety of those walking along the promenade, promotes energy efficiency, and improves the well-being of citizens in a space that is used year-round for walking, running, and exercising.
The new lighting is part of the Town Hall's commitment to modernising public spaces with sustainable solutions. The aim, according to municipal sources, is to make Casares Costa a safer, more accessible, and environmentally friendly environment while reducing the energy bill.
This initiative follows the recent renovation of other coastal sections with the same type of luminaire. The commitment to solar energy allows these points to operate independently of the conventional electrical grid, facilitating their installation in remote areas and reducing maintenance.
The work, which lasted several weeks, involved the installation of the posts, anchoring, and commissioning of the lights. With the 20 new streetlights, the coastal walkway of Casares is now fully illuminated in the section that connects the mouth of Arroyo La Jordana with the Casares del Mar urbanisation, one of the access points to Playa de Perros.
Local residents have already been able to see the results over the past few nights. The lighting, in addition to improving safety, allows for enjoyment of the promenade at night with warm and uniform light, something that residents had been requesting for some time.
The Town Hall highlights that this initiative adds to other measures already taken in the municipality to improve public lighting efficiency. The commitment to solar streetlights has become a hallmark of Casares Costa, where there are already numerous points operating on renewable energy.
The Department of Operational Services positively assesses the outcome and reminds that the intelligent regulation system can save up to 70% of energy compared to conventional lighting. Furthermore, as it uses LED technology, the lifespan of the bulbs is much longer, reducing maintenance work.
