Estepona Shines on the Fourth Day of the Provincial Swimming Circuit in Benalmádena

43 swimmers from Estepona participated in the fourth event of the Provincial Swimming Circuit, achieving several podiums in cadet and relay categories.

The Municipal Swimming School of Estepona achieved outstanding results on the fourth day of the XL Provincial Summer Swimming Circuit, held on Saturday, July 25, in Benalmádena.

A total of 43 swimmers from the Municipal Sports School (EDM) of Swimming in Estepona participated last Saturday, July 25, in the fourth event of the XL Provincial Summer Swimming Circuit, organized by the Málaga Provincial Council in collaboration with the Andalusian Swimming Federation and the affiliated municipalities. The event took place in the town of Benalmádena and brought together young talents from across the province.

The Estepona representatives secured several podium finishes in various categories, particularly excelling in cadet and relay events. In the Male Cadet category, Rubén Ramos Valero took first place, while his teammate David Ferrer Parrado finished third. In the Female Cadet category, Sandra Romero Adame was the fastest in the 50 meters butterfly, taking home the gold.

In the Open Male category, Benjamin Lewis Cook was the best in his event, followed by Víctor Vázquez De Oria, who secured second place, and José Manuel Calvo Granados, who finished fourth. In the Female Infantil category, Inés Ferrer Muñoz achieved a commendable second place, while Carmen Gutiérrez Timircan finished fourth. In the Male Benjamín category, Jaime Ferrer Muñoz narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth.

The relay events also yielded good results for the Estepona delegation. The Male Pequeños team, consisting of Héctor Ruíz Buch, Jaime Ferrer Muñoz, Sergio Velasco Fraile, and Juam Vázquez Simón, finished in third place. The Female Pequeñas team, made up of Eden Aurelia Cook, Natalia Guerrero Núñez, Noa Aragón Ramos, and Aria Bautista Rodríguez, also came in third.

In the senior category, both male teams achieved second and third places respectively. The team formed by Roberto Ruíz Buch, David Ferrer Parrado, Víctor Vázquez De Oria, and Benjamin Lewis Cook came second, while the team consisting of Abel Aragón Ramos, Miguel Puertas Macías, Rubén Ramos Valero, and José Manuel Calvo Granados took third place. The Female Mayores team, with Carmen Gutiérrez Timircan, Inés Ferrer Muñoz, Sandra Romero Adame, and Adriana Díaz Castro, finished second.

The Provincial Summer Swimming Circuit, which reaches its fortieth edition this year, has an educational and participatory character. Its aim is to promote swimming practice and strengthen municipal schools in the province, fostering healthy habits among the youth. The competition takes place over several days in different municipalities in Málaga.

The next event of the circuit will be the fifth day, which will be held on Saturday, August 1, at the Free Wave Sports Center in Cancelada, within the municipality of Estepona. It will be an opportunity for local swimmers to compete at home and continue gaining experience and good results.

The Estepona City Council has expressed its satisfaction with the performance of the young athletes, highlighting the work of the Municipal Swimming School and the support of families. The Sports Department encourages all residents to attend the next event to support the Estepona swimmers.
