The Casa de la Cultura in Arroyo de la Miel hosts the Autumn Bonsai Exhibition from October 1 to 3, featuring around thirty specimens from members of Amigos del Bonsái de Benalmádena and workshops open to the public.
The Casa de la Cultura in Arroyo de la Miel will be the venue for the Autumn Bonsai Exhibition from Thursday 1 to Saturday 3 October, an exhibition organised by the Amigos del Bonsái de Benalmádena Association in collaboration with the Benalmádena Town Hall. The event will showcase around 30 specimens of various types and sizes, all cared for by the association's members.
The Councillor for Culture, Jésica Trujillo, and the president of the association, Miguel Ángel González, presented the programme on Monday. The exhibition will be open to visitors on all three days from 10.00 to 13.30 and from 17.00 to 20.30 hours.
“This exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to discover all the work, patience, and dedication that goes into caring for a bonsai and to introduce this discipline to people who are not yet familiar with it,” Trujillo highlighted.
The official opening will take place on Thursday at 19.30 hours, with the presentation of a bonsai initiation course, followed by a welcome snack at 20.00 hours. On Friday, at 19.30 hours, the courtyard of the Casa de la Cultura will host the presentation of the book “Sculptures Speak”, by Rafael Gamero, among the displayed bonsais.
Saturday will be the most participatory day, featuring the proposal “Bring your bonsai and we’ll work on it together”. There will be demonstration workshops from 10.30 to 13.30 and from 17.30 to 19.30 hours, with the closing scheduled for 20.00 hours.
Trujillo thanked “the involvement of the Amigos del Bonsái Association and its members for keeping this hobby alive and sharing their knowledge with the community,” and invited residents and visitors to come to the Casa de la Cultura. Admission to the exhibition is free until capacity is reached.
