The Ronda City Council has carried out work on 850 square meters of Virgen de Fátima street, in La Dehesa, with new pavement and 84 meters of landscaped areas next to the Municipal School of Music and Dance.
The Ronda City Council has completed the improvement of two sections of Virgen de Fátima street, in the La Dehesa neighbourhood, covering a total area of 850 square meters. The municipal delegate for Parks and Gardens, Concha Muñoz, visited the works, which have renovated 350 square meters of pavement in one section and 490 square meters of flooring in another.
The intervention included the creation of 84 square meters of new landscaped areas in the section next to the Municipal School of Music and Dance, at the former Giner de los Ríos school, and close to a children's playground. These spaces feature two long planters with oleanders, a central planter with viburnum, false laurel and photinia, and three circular flowerbeds with three wild plum trees and lantanas. In total, three new trees and over a hundred plants have been planted.
Muñoz explained that the work is part of the AEPSA 2025 programme, which has involved an investment of nearly 770,000 euros and has allowed for the hiring of 244 unemployed people.
“The aim is to continue improving the neighbourhoods of Ronda, addressing deteriorated spaces and creating more accessible, pedestrian-friendly environments with greater green areas,” the delegate stated.
AEPSA funds have also financed improvements on Molino, Virgen de Lourdes, and Virgen de la Paloma streets, the construction of a kiosk in the vicinity of the Sports City, and work on paths in the outlying districts. A third section of Virgen de Fátima street remains pending, which will be addressed in future actions under the same programme.
