The Ronda City Council has launched the new edition of its Sociocultural Workshops, with over 1,700 places available across 93 activities ranging from physical maintenance to comics.
The Ronda City Council has opened the registration period for the Sociocultural Workshops for the 2026-2027 school year, an initiative that this year reaches 1,700 places spread over 93 workshops. The councillor for the area, Alicia López, presented the offer this Thursday, which aims to promote social participation, learning, and active leisure among residents.
The variety of proposals is extensive: from physical activities such as pilates, yoga, zumba, or functional training, to artistic disciplines like oil painting, watercolour, ceramics, or illustration. There are also options for those who prefer crafts such as patchwork, embroidery, or furniture restoration, as well as cooking workshops (cooking therapy), a reading club, and memory exercises.
The workshops will be held in various locations throughout the city and its districts. In the urban area, the venues include the San Rafael Civic Centre, the Senior Centre, the El Fuerte Civic Centre, San Francisco, Juan Carlos I, the Municipal School of Music and Dance, San Cristóbal, the Workers' Centre, number 10 Molino Street, the covered pool at El Fuerte, and the Padre Jesús Cultural Centre. In the districts, the designated spaces are the Cayetano Arroyo Civic Centre in Llano de la Cruz, Los Prados, the old school in La Cimada, the Neighbourhood Centre of La Indiana, and the Civic Centre of Los Villalones.
The councillor encouraged the population to register and highlighted that the offer exceeds 1,700 places, with the aim that “everyone, regardless of age or condition, can find an activity that motivates them.”
The registration period is already underway. Students who have remained enrolled until May 2026 will be able to renew their place from September 1 to 21, for both fee-based workshops and free ones (Memory Exercises, Reading Club, and Cooking Therapy). For the remaining vacant places and new workshops, a prior appointment system has been established by phone on September 17 and 18, from 10:00 to 13:00, by calling 673087344, 673087108, and 673087310.
The public service hours at the Padre Jesús Cultural Centre, where the administration of the workshops is located, will be Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:30, and on Mondays and Tuesdays also from 17:00 to 19:00. For the districts, a specific calendar has been designed that can be consulted on the municipal website.

This initiative, established in the municipality, aims to provide alternatives for healthy leisure and continuous training for residents, promoting integration and well-being. Registrations will be managed in person at the Padre Jesús Cultural Centre, located at number 10 María Cabrera Street, and also by prior appointment to expedite the process. The City Council recommends checking the website for details of each workshop and specific requirements.
