The tournament will take place on 31 July at the El Fuerte sports centre, with prizes of up to 300 euros and a bar service.
On Friday, 31 July, starting at 19:00, the El Fuerte sports centre will host a charity futsal tournament organised by the Galmax GT team, made up of students from IES Rodríguez Delgado in Ronda. The event aims to raise funds to cover the costs of the trip to Singapore, where the team will participate in the international final of their technological project this autumn.
The municipal sports delegate, Bernardo Crespo, presented the initiative this morning and highlighted the pride it brings to Ronda to have a team that has managed to rank among the best in the world. “It is a project that combines innovation, training, teamwork, and organisation,” said Crespo, who encouraged all citizens to support this event.
The Ronda City Council is collaborating with the organisation of the tournament to lessen the financial burden of the team's trip to Singapore. According to the councillor, the Sports Area has provided logistical support to ensure the event can take place in the evening, thus encouraging participation from both players and the public.
In addition to the sports competition, the tournament will feature a bar service throughout the day, making it a community event open to all residents. The organisers hope that the festive atmosphere will encourage citizens to contribute to the cause.
Galmax GT has detailed that the tournament will award cash prizes of 300, 150, and 75 euros for the top three teams, in addition to trophies. Individual awards will also be given for the best player, best goalkeeper, top scorer, and top assistant. The competition will kick off with a league phase that guarantees several matches for each team before the knockout rounds.
Registrations cost 75 euros per team and can be made through the Instagram profile @galmaxgt or by calling 659 45 04 10. The organisers have called on businesses, groups, and residents to continue supporting a project that will allow a group of young people from Ronda to represent the city and Spain in one of the most important international educational innovation competitions in the world.
Galmax GT, made up of students from IES Rodríguez Delgado, has qualified for the international final of their technological project, which combines innovation and teamwork. The trip to Singapore represents a significant financial challenge for the students, who have launched this charity initiative to raise funds.
The tournament presents an opportunity for the city of Ronda to show its support for these young talents, who have already proven their worth at an international level. The City Council has wanted to back the initiative, aware of the effort it entails for families and the pride it represents for the locality.
Those interested in participating in the tournament can register their team up to the day of the event, if spaces are available. The organisation recommends doing so in advance to ensure participation. The El Fuerte sports centre will open its doors at 18:30 for the reception of teams and the public.
With this tournament, Ronda once again demonstrates its ability to mobilise in favour of charitable causes, in this case linked to education and innovation. The young people of Galmax GT hope to have the support of the entire city to make their dream of competing in Singapore a reality.
