The Galmax GT team, made up of seven students from IES Rodríguez Delgado in Ronda, will travel to Singapore on September 29 to compete in the international final of STEM Racing after winning the regional and national phases.
The Galmax GT team, consisting of seven students from IES Rodríguez Delgado in Ronda, will compete in the international final of STEM Racing to be held in Singapore. The trip is scheduled for September 29, after the group triumphed in the regional final held at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit and subsequently advanced through the national phase.
The competition, linked to Formula 1, evaluates vehicle design and development, team identity, technical tests, marketing, project presentation, and financial management. The students have worked over the past months in these areas to recreate a Formula 1 team.
The team comprises Luis Arroyo, Antonio Ruiz, Marco Martín, Miguel Ulfe, Alejandro Jiménez, Gonzalo García, and Ana Canca. The teacher responsible for the project is Larissa Llopis.
The presentation event for the new vehicle was held at the Convento de Santo Domingo and was led by the school's director, Isaac Roldán. Representatives from the entities that made participation possible attended, including Javier Criado, manager of Turismo de Ronda S. A.; José Santaolalla, provincial deputy for Education and Youth of the Málaga Provincial Council; Aurora Díaz, from the Territorial Delegation of Education of Málaga; Antonio Lasanta, from Fundación Unicaja Ronda; Gael Carvajal, from Ascari; and Manuel Alonso Borbalán, president of the Andalusian Automobile Federation.
The project also has the support of the Ronda-based company MGI and the University of Málaga. The collaboration of sponsors has covered the costs of the trip to Singapore, where the team will carry the name of Ronda and Spain.
