In Málaga, the First Vice President and Minister of Presidency, Health and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz, has stated that the Andalusian network of Early Attention currently supports over 35,000 minors. This number represents a 52% increase compared to the 23,000 children receiving support in 2018.
Increase in Investment and Service Improvements
During his speech in the Parliament of Andalusia, Sanz defended the new Social Concert model for providing Early Attention services. This model ensures adequate support for families and guarantees the continuity of care for minors.
Among the highlighted improvements is a 13% increase in the budget allocated to this support, reaching 53 million euros. Additionally, there will be a 5% increase in the number of annual sessions, which will total 1.7 million, as well as an increase in the price per session from 28 to 30 euros. The model also incorporates criteria aimed at improving the quality of care.
Personalised Attention and Quality Protocols
The Minister of Health emphasized that 75% of the scheduled sessions are provided by non-profit entities, highlighting the crucial role of the third sector in this area. Although some incidents have been recorded during the implementation of the new model, Sanz assured that these are being resolved appropriately.
The Ministry has launched technical protocols that prioritise proximity to the home, the start date of intervention, and the preferences of families. Sanz specified that each case is analysed individually and allows the minor to continue at their current centre if necessary.
Regarding the quality of care, Sanz concluded that the Social Concert model also considers the training and experience of professionals, ensuring that any replacements are made by competent personnel.
