The Vélez-Málaga Town Hall has unveiled the poster for Noche en Vela 2026, which will take place on August 29. The image for this edition features the Palacio de Beniel and over 10,000 candles will illuminate the Historic Centre.
The Palacio de Beniel, one of the most emblematic buildings in Vélez-Málaga's historical heritage, is the main focus of the Noche en Vela 2026 poster, presented this Wednesday by Mayor Jesús Lupiáñez and councillors Lourdes Piña, Juan Fernández Olmo, and Alicia Ramírez. The event, which will be held on Saturday, August 29, will once again transform the Historic Centre into a grand cultural stage with activities for all audiences.
Noche en Vela has established itself as one of the most anticipated celebrations in the Vélez calendar. In this edition, over 10,000 candles will light up streets, squares, and corners of the old town, creating a unique atmosphere that aims to connect the municipality's historical legacy with creativity and citizen participation.
Mayor Jesús Lupiáñez highlighted that this event represents “one of the great nights of the year for Vélez-Málaga” and an opportunity to showcase the municipality's heritage, culture, and traditions. “We will once again enjoy a magical night, full of activities and proposals for all audiences, where our streets and monuments will take centre stage,” he stated during the presentation.
Lupiáñez announced that the 2026 programme will include significant new features and surprises that will be revealed in the coming weeks. “We are working in a coordinated manner across different municipal areas to offer an ambitious, diverse, and high-quality programme,” he added.
Noche en Vela has become a cultural reference in the province of Málaga, attracting thousands of visitors each year. This time, the programme will unfold across the main spaces of the Historic Centre, with offerings of music, performing arts, literature, popular traditions, and leisure activities.
