The Miss and Mister contest of the Real Feria de San Miguel will take place on September 30 at the Fairgrounds. Interested individuals aged 16 to 25 can register from this Thursday.
The Vélez-Málaga City Council has opened the registration period for the Amparo Muñoz Contest on Thursday, September 3, which will crown the Miss and Mister of the Real Feria de San Miguel in both adult and children's categories. The gala will be held on September 30 starting at 20:45 at the Fairgrounds, next to the El Ingenio Shopping Centre.
In the adult category, young people aged 16 to 25 who are registered in Vélez-Málaga can participate. Applications will be accepted until Friday, September 11 via email at feriasyfiestas@velezmalaga.es or in person at the Delegation of Popular Traditions, located on Calle Campillo. Minors must attach authorization from their legal guardian.
The councillor for Popular Traditions, Lourdes Piña, has presented the announcement and highlighted that this event "signals that the Real Feria de San Miguel is getting closer." Piña has encouraged young people to "take the step and experience this event, which they will surely remember for a long time."
The children's contest, for children aged 4 to 10 years, will have its own registration period from Monday, September 14 to Monday, September 28, using the same registration channels. The contest organiser, José María López, has invited "all children, young people, and families to be part of a night where excitement and the desire to enjoy are the main protagonists."
The contest pays tribute to Amparo Muñoz, the only Spanish woman to have won the title of Miss Universe and who was linked to Vélez-Málaga. The gala will serve as a prelude to the Real Feria de San Miguel, which takes place in the municipality.
