The artist Ricardo Arjona has been tasked with designing the poster for the Real Feria de Agosto in Archidona, which will take place from August 14 to 18. The presentation event was held at the Municipal Library and also served to announce the Corregidora and Damas de Honor.
The town of Archidona in Málaga now knows the poster that will announce its Real Feria de Agosto 2026. The work, created by local artist Ricardo Arjona, was presented this Thursday in the Carmen Linares hall of the Municipal Library, at an event attended by the mayor, Juan Manuel Almohalla, and the councillor for Festivals, María Gracia Nuevo.
The poster, as explained by the author during the event, is a composition that includes snapshots taken by him over the years. “I have treasured thousands and thousands of photographs of our fair; I decided that this composition represents the essence of our Real Feria in August,” Arjona noted, detailing the creative process behind the work.
The presentation of the poster was not the only announcement of the day. The official list of representatives for the fair was also revealed, chosen by the jury of the Municipal Council of Festivals in a meeting held on June 30. The Major Corregidora will be Cayetana Luque Aguilar, while the Children's Corregidora is Lucía Mesa Muñoz.
Completing the roster of representatives are the Major Vicecorregidora, Cristina Gemar Cuéllar, and the Children's Vicecorregidora, Manuela Romero Alba. As for the Senior Damas de Honor, the jury appointed María Astorga Lara, M.ª Gracia Córdoba Nuevo, Elena Arjona Ruiz, and Paula Alejandra Casado Galián. The Children's Damas de Honor will be María Jiménez Aguilera, Marta Conejo Luque, Martina Garrido Trujillo, and Eugenia Lara Espinar.
The mayor, Juan Manuel Almohalla, took the floor at the end of the event to wish all residents a “happy August fair, where we can spend a few days surrounded by family and friends enjoying this much-anticipated date.” After the speeches, the chosen representatives posed with municipal officials for the official photograph.
