The Town Hall of Torremolinos will allocate 2.2 million euros to its third resurfacing plan, which will renew 67,069.55 square metres of roads throughout the municipality, including a stretch of the MA-20. Offers can be submitted until 22nd September.
The Town Hall of Torremolinos has published the tender for a new resurfacing plan, the third initiated by the government team led by Mayor Margarita del Cid, with a budget of 2,211,944.78 euros (including VAT) and an execution period of five months.
The work will cover 67,069.55 square metres of roads in various locations across the municipality and also includes the stretch of the MA-20 located around Avenida Manuel Fraga Iribarne, at the connection with the municipality of Málaga. This road shows significant deterioration of the surface, with cracks, potholes, and chipping that affect road safety and the image of one of the access points to the town.
The works include the removal of the damaged asphalt, the replacement of the surface layer, the raising of manholes, grates, and drains, and the horizontal road signage of the affected areas.
The mayor has highlighted that this investment "responds to a real need to continue improving the condition of our streets, not only from the perspective of traffic but also of safety, accessibility, and the urban image of Torremolinos." Del Cid added that resurfacing "is a basic but essential action, as it directly impacts the quality of life of residents and the daily functioning of the city."
The Town Hall intends to reserve an annual amount in the budgets for the constant renewal of the road surface, prioritising residential and commercial areas that are particularly relevant for the daily mobility of the people of Torremolinos. The plan is part of a broader roadmap for maintenance, regeneration, and urban improvement, aimed at preparing the city for current mobility and coexistence needs.
Interested companies can submit their offers through the Public Sector Contracting Platform until next 22nd September.
