The hotel sector in Torremolinos recorded 718,237 overnight stays in August, the highest figure in Andalucía, ahead of Seville, according to the Hotel Tourism Situation published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The municipality received 146,025 travellers, a 5.7% increase compared to the same month in 2025, which means 7,954 additional visitors.
The growth was supported by both the domestic and foreign markets, which accounted for 60% of the visitors recorded in August. Overnight stays associated with domestic tourism rose by 1.2% year-on-year to 223,589.
The average stay in the eighth month of the year was 4.9 days and the occupancy rate reached 90.8%. In the annual total, Torremolinos has already accumulated 3,978,987 overnight stays, with an average stay of 4.7 days, of which 76.1% correspond to international tourism.
Hotel profitability indicators also grew in August. The average daily rate (ADR) stood at 208.5 euros, a 14.8% increase year-on-year, while the revenue per available room (REVPAR) reached 182.2 euros, with an increase of 11.1%.
Employment in the hotel sector of the municipality rose by 15.2% to 4,241 people, according to the same data from the INE.
