The Torremolinos City Council has executed more than fifty improvements in the public and private schools of the municipality in preparation for the start of the 2026/27 school year. The work includes everything from painting and plumbing to structural repairs.
The Torremolinos City Council has completed over fifty improvement actions in the public and private schools of the municipality to get them ready for the start of the new school year. The work has included masonry, painting, plumbing, clearing, and cleaning of water tanks, as well as repainting the pedestrian crossings located next to the educational centres.
It has been the schools themselves and the parents' associations who communicated the needs identified at the end of the last school year to the City Council, and all centres have received some type of intervention. Among the most significant actions is the repair of part of the roof at the entrance of the San Miguel school, where the old janitor's house has also been converted into a library and damages in the courtyard, dampness, and pits have been fixed.
At CEIP Benyamina, the gym floor has been replaced, a wall has been repaired, and various areas, both interior and exterior, including the stands, have been painted. The bathrooms, the wall of the garden have also been fixed, and repairs have been made to the volleyball court and the basketball hoop. Additionally, the net in the courtyard has been removed, the posts have been painted, handrails have been welded, blinds in several classrooms have been repaired, and the concrete lifted by a ficus has been replaced.
At the Palma de Mallorca school, the wall of the specific classroom 'Villansueño' has been demolished and replaced, new doors have been installed in the external toilets, and grilles have been renewed. A fence has also been placed over the wall and an iron gate for accessibility has been installed, the warehouse ceiling has been repaired, and a fault affecting the water supply to the garden has been fixed.
CEIP La Paz has had the exterior facade of the infant and primary buildings painted, as well as the secretary's office and the perimeter wall. New grilles and a fence have been installed over the exterior wall, dampness has been repaired, tiles in classrooms that were deteriorated have been replaced, and furniture has been installed in the dining room.
At the Albaida school, the work has focused on improving the storage room and painting the interior courtyard. At Mar Argentea, a lattice has been installed, tiling has been repaired in several areas, and repairs have been made to the bathrooms, along with the creation of a door to separate the new storage area from the primary zone.
Improvements have also been made at CEIP Atenea, where the perimeter wall has been repaired and a ramp has been created next to the access door, and at the Maestra Virginia Gaitán school, where the porch has been painted and the fencing and supply pipes for the fountain have been repaired.
