Mijas' ordinary session in August will vote tomorrow on the final approval of the ordinance for historic developments, which affects 96 areas and aims to ensure equal services.

The Town Hall of Mijas will bring to tomorrow's ordinary session in August the final approval of the Municipal Ordinance Regulating the Reception of Historic Developments. This document will allow the reception of the 96 historic developments within the municipal area.

Item 7 of the agenda includes the resolution of the objections raised during the processing. The ordinance received its initial approval last March, and the aim is to eliminate the legal, administrative, and economic insecurity affecting residents and the council itself.

The lack of clarity regarding who is responsible for maintaining and preserving roads, sewage networks, water supply, lighting, or green areas has historically harmed the residents of these areas, who pay the same taxes, such as IBI, as those in urban centres.

The ordinance is based on regional legislation, particularly the Law for the Promotion of Territorial Sustainability in Andalusia (LISTA), which establishes the framework for regularising these established de facto situations.

The process began in January of this year with the mandatory public consultation, which lasted for fifteen working days. This consultation complied with Article 133.1 of Law 39/2015 on Common Administrative Procedure and served to identify problems and possible solutions.
