The Mijas Town Hall is organising games, fairs, and dances at the three active participation centres in the municipality on October 5, 6, and 7, starting at 5:30 PM and with free entry.
The Councillor for Older Persons at the Mijas Town Hall, Silvia Marín, has presented the programme with which the municipality will commemorate International Older Persons' Day. The activities will take place across the three active participation centres in the locality on October 5, 6, and 7, with free and open access.
The schedule kicks off on Monday, October 5 at the Active Participation Centre, continues on Tuesday, 6 at the Mijas Pueblo centre, and concludes on Wednesday, 7 at the La Cala Senior Centre. At each location, the participatory games and the fair will start at 5:30 PM.
Following the recreational activities, the day will extend with scheduled dances from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at each venue. The council aims with this format to promote social interaction among users and to prevent situations of loneliness, dependence, and loss of emotional ties.
“We seek to enhance the quality of life for our older residents, as they are a priority for this government team. We invite all our neighbours to join these days to celebrate this significant date together,” stated Silvia Marín.
The activities will take place in the active participation centres and the senior centre scattered throughout the Mijas municipality. Participation is open to all residents who wish to join the events, with no prior registration required.
