The town of Málaga has been the scene of an alleged misogynistic crime, which has been condemned by the Councillor for Social Services, Families and Equality, Loles López. The victim, Ieva, was 35 years old and is the twelfth woman murdered due to gender violence in Andalucía in 2026.
This case has been confirmed by the Government Delegation against Gender Violence. Ieva left behind two young children and had not previously filed any complaints nor was she a user of the Andalusian Institute of Women (IAM). The alleged attacker is said to have committed suicide after the attack.

Loles López expressed her outrage at this tragic event, offering her solidarity to the victim's family, especially to her children. Furthermore, she called for the unity of all administrations and citizens to combat gender violence.
The councillor reminded that the Junta of Andalucía has a variety of resources for victims, ranging from psychological support to legal advice. Following the crime, the IAM's crisis psychological support service has been activated, designed to help relatives cope with the trauma of loss.

The Junta assures that specialized services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Victims of gender violence can access the number 900 200 999, a free resource that guarantees anonymous and confidential attention provided by experts in Psychology, Law, and Social Work.
The Andalusian Government considers gender violence to be a serious violation of Human Rights, emphasizing the need for a unified response to this serious social problem.
