The Marbella City Council has established a new work centre for cleaning staff in Nueva Andalucía, with a storage area and toilets, to reduce travel and gain cleaning time on the streets of the district.

The City Council of Marbella has completed the construction of a local work centre for the Cleaning delegation in Nueva Andalucía, a facility aimed at making municipal service more efficient. The premises, located in the underground car park of the Multi-Purpose Centre of the district, includes a storage area and toilets with showers and sinks, according to Diario Sur.

The councillor for the area, Diego López, explained that the new space "will make time more effective by saving on travel and will also mean that the workers have better facilities." The facility has 80 square metres, of which 60 are for the storage area and 20 for the toilets, with two showers, two sinks, and two toilets, as well as a workstation with data connection.

The works have included the creation of supply and sewage networks, improvements to the electrical and lighting systems, and a forced ventilation system. López has noted that "it will allow the workers serving the entire area of Nueva Andalucía to have a closer space, reducing travel and dedicating more time to cleaning the streets of the district."

This initiative is part of a municipal plan to establish work centres and "optimise resources, improve employee conditions, and continue enhancing the quality of the cleaning service," the councillor stated. The centre joins others already completed in Santa Marta and the Constitution Park, and another that is under construction on Magallanes Street to serve Puya and Albarizas.
