PP and PSOE in Málaga Clash Over Support Concentrations for Ceuta

The PP accuses the Government of sending the Police to sabotage the events; the subdelegate denies it and calls it a lie. The concentrations will take place this Wednesday.

The call for concentrations in support of Ceuta, promoted by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) for this Wednesday, has sparked a new clash between the PP and PSOE in Málaga. The provincial secretary general of the PP, José Ramón Carmona, and the Government subdelegate, Javier Salas, have engaged in a heated exchange of accusations regarding the police presence in the town halls, as reported by Diario Sur.

Carmona has alleged that the Government Subdelegation sent the National Police's Information Brigade to several municipalities in the province to "intimidate" and "sabotage" the mobilisations. "We find it surprising and we do not know what else the subdelegate will do to obey orders from Sánchez and Marlaska and try to hinder and create problems for a peaceful concentration of citizens," he stated, demanding "an urgent explanation".

"The subdelegate should represent the Government of Spain, not the interests of sanchismo in the province of Málaga," Carmona added.

Salas responded hours later with a firm denial. He asserted that the PP's accusations are false and that the only contact with the National Police was due to an "incongruity" in the notification from the Benalmádena Town Hall, resolved for "clarifying issues". "I must categorically deny the information from the PP of Málaga regarding the concentrations in support of Ceuta and I remind the PP that this government has always respected the rule of law and will always do so," he declared, concluding that "the lie and delusion of the PP of Málaga is the hallmark of the PP of Moreno Bonilla".
