The local company Socosol has delivered to the Beach Delegation of Manilva, led by councillor Gema Zotano, the report of actions from the 2026 lifeguard campaign, which has now concluded. The report details a total of 341 interventions carried out on the municipality's beaches throughout the season.
Of the total assists, 81 correspond to injuries such as cuts, abrasions, or splinters; 44 to jellyfish stings; 6 to insect bites; 2 to stonefish stings and another 2 to sea urchin spines. Health services also attended to 17 cases of trauma, dislocations, or muscle pathology, 31 for general discomfort (fainting, drops in blood pressure, or hypoglycemia), 13 for skin irritation or hives, 5 for eye irritation, and 1 for an allergic reaction.
The lifeguards performed 19 rescues and 4 searches for lost users, and conducted 65 assisted baths. In the preventive section, they offered 102 health advice and developed 171 preventive actions.
The service also attended to 10 activations by emergency services 112 and 061, 2 medical emergencies, and 5 pathologies that required transfer to a healthcare centre.
With the season concluded, the surveillance and rescue operation on the beaches of Manilva is deactivated until the next summer campaign.
