The Councillor for Tourism and the First Deputy Mayor of Manilva have attended the World Travel Market in London to strengthen the municipality's presence in the British market.
The Councillor for Tourism of Manilva, Agustín Vargas, and the First Deputy Mayor, Juan Carlos Morejón, have participated in the World Travel Market in London, one of the major international fairs in the sector, alongside leaders from other municipalities on the Costa del Sol.
The Manilva Town Hall estimates that British tourists account for around 20% of the international visitors received by the municipality, which equates to one in every two. Therefore, consolidating this market is a priority of the municipal tourism strategy, especially in the last quarter of the year.
According to occupancy data for the summer of 2026 provided by the Town Hall, July closed with a 72.40% (+3.5%), August with an 82.30% (+0.7%) and September with a 58% (+3%), all compared to the same period in 2025.
At the fair, the municipality also promoted golf tourism, taking advantage of its proximity to courses in the provinces of Cádiz and Málaga, and the recent comprehensive renovation of its Club House. According to the Town Hall, this initiative helps reduce seasonality and expand the offering beyond sun and beach.
Manilva also benefits from the proximity of the airports in Gibraltar and Málaga, with a combined average of around 15 direct flights daily, which, along with the climate, beaches, and sports offerings, attracts visitors throughout the year.
