TUI Hotels & Resorts has opened the TUI Blue Yaramar in Fuengirola, with 224 rooms, and has signed a new hotel project in Seville for 2027. The chain now has 38 establishments in Spain.

The tourism giant TUI Hotels & Resorts has launched a new hotel on the Costa del Sol. This is the TUI Blue Yaramar, located on the seafront promenade of Fuengirola, which opened its doors last May. The establishment, which has been recently renovated, features 224 rooms and a range of services designed for leisure tourists.

The hotel has a pool with sea views, two restaurants, three bars, a gym, and an entertainment programme that includes live music and themed nights. The opening is part of the company's international expansion plan, which has also added destinations in Turkey, Bhutan, and China.

Expansion of the TUI Suneo brand in Spain

But TUI's commitment to the Spanish market does not stop there. The chain has signed a new project in Seville for its TUI Suneo brand, aimed at providing value for money. This is the TUI Suneo Torre de Sevilla, which is expected to open in 2027. With this operation, the company strengthens its presence in southern Spain, where it already has several establishments on the Costa del Sol and other parts of the country.

In total, TUI Hotels & Resorts operates 38 hotels in Spain, with more than 10,400 rooms, distributed across four brands: Robinson, TUI Blue, TUI Magic Life, and TUI Suneo. The company has not disclosed the specific investment for the Seville project, but industry sources indicate that it will be a mid-high category establishment.

Local impact and outlook

The opening in Fuengirola reinforces the hotel offering in the Málaga town, which in recent years has focused on renewing its accommodation facilities. The TUI Blue Yaramar will also generate direct and indirect employment in the area, although the company has not specified the number of jobs created. For the residents of Fuengirola, the arrival of an international operator like TUI could translate into a greater flow of tourists and, consequently, a boost for local commerce and dining.

The CEO of TUI Hotels & Resorts, Artur Gerber, has highlighted that “by signing new projects in key markets, we are expanding our reach to attract new customer segments and create additional growth opportunities for our renowned leisure hotel brands.” Meanwhile, the operations director of the TUI Group, Marco Ciomperlik, has emphasized that “the expansion of our hotel portfolio in both established and new destinations underscores the strength of our integrated business model.”

Beyond Spain, the company has opened the Akra Didim Resort & Spa in Turkey, with 359 rooms, built with circularity criteria and where 260,000 cubic meters of materials were reused. In Bhutan, it has inaugurated the TUI Blue Paro Taktsang, a luxury resort with 34 suites, and in China, the TUI Blue Yangtze Shanghai, with 103 rooms.

For travellers from the province of Málaga, the new offering in Fuengirola provides another option to enjoy the Costa del Sol, while the Seville project, although still distant, points to greater tourist connectivity between the two cities. The TUI Blue Yaramar is already operational and accepting bookings for the summer season.
