Fuengirola surpasses 7,700 users at its accessible beaches between June and August. Lifeguards have assisted over 6,200 baths.
The four beach areas for people with reduced mobility in Fuengirola have recorded 7,798 users between June 1 and August 15, as confirmed this Monday by the mayor, Ana Mula, during a visit to one of these areas.
The mayor, accompanied by the beach councillor, José Sánchez, highlighted that the lifeguards assigned to these spaces have assisted in bathing on 6,256 occasions, the majority of cases attended.
The Fuengirola coastline has accessible areas in Castillo, Fuengirola, Los Boliches-Gaviotas, and Carvajal. Mula reminded that the municipality was a pioneer in Andalusia in the year 2000 in creating these spaces.
“Fuengirola is a national and international tourist reference, and there is no doubt that its beaches are one of the main attractions for visiting, spending a holiday, or even living here,” the mayor stated.
The city has received a special mention for its accessibility in the latest edition of the Blue Flags, awarded by the Environmental Education and Consumer Association (ADEAC).
Mula emphasized the collaboration with groups such as Cota Cero and Aspaym to continue improving these spaces, which are available year-round.
