The El Faro de la Escucha Association is organising a charity fair on July 22 at Parque de España with tapas, games, music, and a monologue, from 20:00 to 24:00.
On July 22, Fuengirola's Parque de España will become the stage for the First Listening Fair, an event organised by the El Faro de la Escucha Association in collaboration with the Town Hall. The event, which will take place from 20:00 to 24:00, aims to raise awareness of the association's work and promote active listening as a tool for social transformation.
The Councillor for Families, Equality, and Social Welfare, Cristina Bornao, and the president of the association, Paula Casas, presented the fair's programme this morning. Under the slogan 'We Listen, We Connect, We Transform', the initiative aims to create an open meeting space for all citizens, combining leisure and solidarity.
Tapas, games, and a monologue for all ages
During the evening, attendees will be able to enjoy a bar with drinks and food, children's games, live music, raffles, and a monologue. The president of El Faro de la Escucha, Paula Casas, explained that the fair is designed for families, young people, and seniors to share a pleasant day while supporting a social cause. “We want people to know what we do and join our listening network,” she stated.
The association, based in Fuengirola, works on raising awareness about active listening and preventing social isolation, especially among vulnerable groups. The fair will serve to raise funds and recruit volunteers, as well as provide a space for coexistence where everyone can feel welcomed.
Municipal support for the charitable initiative
Councillor Cristina Bornao highlighted the importance of supporting such proposals, which “promote emotional well-being and strengthen the associative fabric of Fuengirola.” Bornao encouraged residents and visitors to participate in the fair, emphasising that the Town Hall is collaborating by providing the space and other logistical resources. “It is an example of how local administration supports entities that work for the community,” she noted.
