The eastern area of the outskirts of Estepona will soon have a new green space of 20,000 square meters in the La Boladilla sector, with inclusive playgrounds, a sports court, and nearly 300 trees.

The Estepona Town Hall has announced that the eastern area of the outskirts will have a new green space of 20,000 square meters in the La Boladilla sector in the coming weeks. The project, carried out by the developer responsible for the sector's development after obtaining municipal authorisations, is now in its final stages.

The new site will feature two children's playgrounds with inclusive equipment adapted for children with reduced mobility, a 1,000 square meter multipurpose sports court, and wellness circuits. It will also include extensive naturalised meadows, shrub and ground cover species of Mediterranean origin, and around 300 new trees of leafy and ornamental species that will integrate with the existing specimens.

The work is now focused on completing the lighting and public illumination, so the green area will be opened to the public soon. The project also includes pedestrian pathways, an automatic irrigation network controlled by remote, and environmental reinforcement measures to optimise water consumption.

This new facility adds to other green areas created in recent years in the outskirts of Estepona, such as the 20,000 square meter area in Bel-Air, the 10,000 square meter area next to La Resinera and Las Joyas, the 13,000 square meter meadow at the entrance to Cancelada, the 26,000 square meter area north of Cancelada with a 7-a-side football pitch and recreational area, or the 5,000 square meter area next to the Estepona Hospital.

Residents in the eastern area will be able to enjoy this new space for leisure, sports, and the outdoors as soon as the final lighting touches are completed.
