The Estepona Town Hall will give away 3,000 shirts for free on September 11, the day of the 19th stage of La Vuelta. There will also be a cycling meet with the same route.
The Estepona Town Hall has presented the commemorative shirt for La Vuelta 2026, on the occasion of the celebration in the city of the antepenultimate stage of the Spanish round. The mayor, José María García Urbano, has encouraged residents to dress the city in red on September 11.
On that day, 3,000 shirts will be distributed for free starting at 12:00 PM at three locations: at the Town Hall entrance, at the beginning of calle Terraza by Avenida España, and at the start of the bridge leading to Sierra Bermeja. One shirt will be given per person until supplies run out.
The shirts have been designed in two colours: yellow for the organisation's volunteers, while the rest of the citizens will receive red ones. The design features the inscription 'Estepona, September 11, 2026 La Vuelta' on the front, along with the city’s coat of arms and the event's logo. On the back, it reads 'Estepona, Garden of the Costa del Sol'.
On the same day, at 8:30 AM, a Cycling Meet will start from the Ferial and Sports Park, open to everyone without prior registration. The route will be 23 kilometres, almost the same as that faced by the La Vuelta riders through the municipality, including the ascent to Peñas Blancas.
The event is recreational and non-competitive, as noted by the mayor, who highlighted the opportunity for cycling enthusiasts to enjoy a historic sports day for the city.
