The Town Hall of Casares will finance the trip of two residents of the municipality to Gambia to visit the Blas Infante Nursery School in Duwasu. Applications can be submitted until September 30.
The Town Hall of Casares has opened the call for the Casares Solidarity School programme, an initiative that will allow two residents of the municipality to travel for ten days to Gambia to firsthand experience the Blas Infante Nursery School in Duwasu and the cooperation project developed by the local association Mol Beh Taa.
The trip, fully funded by the council, is scheduled for the next visit of the association to Gambia, which will take place in January. The initiative aims to bring the citizens of Casares closer to the international cooperation projects promoted by the municipality.
To participate, interested individuals must be registered in Casares, be members or volunteers of Mol Beh Taa, have knowledge of English, and submit a work proposal or project to be carried out at the educational centre in Duwasu.

The programme was born after the official visit that the mayor of Casares, Juan Luis Villalón, and the councillor for Cooperation, Ana Umbría, made to Gambia earlier this year, where they were able to assess the state of the school. The Duwasu centre has been built thanks to the work of the association, its members, and collaborating entities, including the Town Hall of Casares, which has participated through the Blas Infante Casares Solidarity Awards.
