Local Police arrested a man in the North district after throwing a television at his partner and hitting a friend who tried to help her.
The Local Police of Málaga have arrested a man accused of violently assaulting his partner and a friend of hers at a home in the North district of the capital. The events occurred around 5:50 AM on August 31, when a call to 092 alerted authorities to the assault.
Upon arrival, officers found two women at the door of the residence, nervous and crying, with redness on their necks and torsos, consistent with attempts of strangulation. According to witness statements, after a domestic argument, the man threw a television at his partner, grabbed her by the neck, and threw her to the ground.
The friend, who witnessed the scene, attempted to intervene and was also attacked: the suspect grabbed her by the neck, threw her to the ground, and struck her in the head and mouth. Given the severity of the situation, the patrol detained the man, read him his rights, and took him to police facilities to be made available to the judiciary, as reported by Diario Sur.
The Local Police remind that the phone number 016 provides confidential support to victims of gender violence without leaving a trace on the bill. The Málaga City Council also has the Urgent Legal Assistance Service for Women (SUAM), with lawyers available 24 hours at 010 and 679 661 800.
