The Estepona City Council has tendered the installation of 138 solar streetlights in seven areas of the coastal corridor, with a budget of 196,123 euros.
The Estepona City Council has opened the tender process for the acquisition and installation of 138 solar streetlights that will be distributed across seven areas of the municipality's coastal corridor. The aim is to improve the lighting in these spaces and move towards more efficient and sustainable lighting.
The new lights will be placed in Isdabe, Benamara, Guadalmansa, La Gaspara, Avenida México, Bahía Dorada 3, and Bahía Dorada beach. The base tender budget amounts to 196,123 euros, including VAT.
The streetlights will operate on solar energy, allowing the necessary electricity to be generated from sunlight. This reduces dependence on the electrical grid and promotes more sustainable lighting in public coastal spaces.
This initiative is part of the municipal strategy to modernise public lighting facilities in Estepona. In recent months, the City Council has completed the renovation of 350 LED lights in six parks in the city, an intervention that has reduced the installed power by around 65% and generated energy savings of over 95,000 kilowatt-hours per year, resulting in an estimated annual saving of 27,000 euros for municipal finances.
With this new tender, the City Council continues its plan to improve energy efficiency in various parts of the municipality, a line of work aimed at reducing consumption and the environmental impact of public lighting.
Interested companies can submit their bids within the timeframe established in the tender announcement, which has been published on the contracting profile of the Estepona City Council.
