The Plenary of the Casares Town Hall approves a motion from Izquierda Unida to demand a nursery and primary school in the coastal area. Students travel 14 kilometres daily to CEIP Blas Infante.
The Plenary of Casares has unanimously approved a motion calling for the construction of a public Infant and Primary school in Casares Costa. The proposal, presented by Izquierda Unida, has received the support of all groups in the municipal Corporation.
The initiative aims to provide the coastal area with a Primary school, as students from that zone currently have to travel approximately 14 kilometres daily to CEIP Blas Infante in Casares village. According to the motion, this lack of educational service affects the quality of life of families and contributes to the overcrowding of the current centre.
The session also unanimously approved the modification of the Local Emergency Plan for Forest Fires (PLEIF) of Casares 2024-2028, adapted to Decree 69/2024, and the amendment of the municipal Regulations on Honours and Distinctions.
In the economic section, the General Account for the 2025 financial year was approved with seven votes in favour and three abstentions. With the same result, an initial credit modification and the rectification of balances of creditor and debtor accounts from previous years were also approved.
Additionally, the Plenary has dismissed the appeal filed against the final approval of an extraordinary action for a detached single-family home and pool in the area of La Manga, with seven votes in favour and three abstentions.
No urgent matters or urgent motions were presented. The session concluded with the oversight of municipal management and the turn for questions and requests from opposition groups.
