The extraordinary Plenary gives final approval to the credit supplement financed by treasury surplus. The works include beaches, parks, urban sanitation, and the library of Arroyo de la Miel.

The Benalmádena Town Hall has definitively approved a credit supplement of 8,381,215 euros aimed at new investments and improvements in the municipality. The measure was passed in an extraordinary Plenary with the favourable vote of the PP and the abstention of PSOE, VOX, and IU. The initial approval took place in August and was published for public exposure on the 17th of that month.

The operation is financed from the treasury surplus for general expenses, as detailed by the Councillor for Economy and Finance, José Miguel Muriel. Among the planned actions are improvements to the Parque Innova, the adaptation of spaces for rehearsal rooms and youth activities, the entrance to Benalmádena via Fuente de la Salud, new smart and themed showers on the beaches, the reorganisation of the avenues of Las Palmeras and Los Argonautas, bus bays and platforms for shelters, traffic calming measures, and the repair of the Library of Arroyo de la Miel.

The package also includes investments in cleaning, the sanitation of the urbanisations Torremar, Capellanía, and Higuerón, new elements for children's and biosustainable areas, and improvements in sports facilities.

The mayor, Juan Antonio Lara, has defended the investment volume of the current mandate: "We are experiencing an unprecedented investment phase in our municipality. Never before have so many resources been mobilised to transform Benalmádena and, above all, to meet the real needs of our residents".

"We are not only talking about large projects, but about actions that translate into better streets, parks, sports facilities, beaches, mobility, sanitation, and public equipment. We are reinvesting the resources of all Benalmádena residents to improve their city," the mayor added.

The Town Hall already reported in August that during the current mandate, more than 40 million euros had been executed in investments, tripling the volume compared to 2022.

Muriel explained that the operation does not require debt: "This final approval allows us to continue advancing in a management model that turns the good economic situation of the Town Hall into useful investments for the citizens." The councillor added that the goal "is not to accumulate resources, but to manage them responsibly and return them to our residents in the form of better services, infrastructure, and quality of life".
