The mayor, Juan Antonio Lara, and Manuel Jiménez Caro, president of the Territorial College of Property Administrators of Málaga and Melilla, have signed a framework agreement to expedite procedures and improve coordination with property owner communities.
The Benalmádena Town Hall and the Territorial College of Property Administrators of Málaga and Melilla have signed a General Protocol of Action that establishes a permanent framework for collaboration between both entities. The document was signed by the mayor, Juan Antonio Lara, and the college president, Manuel Jiménez Caro, as reported by the town hall.
The agreement will benefit over a hundred registered property administrators and aims to facilitate the management of property owner communities before the municipal administration. Among the specific measures, the Town Hall will provide information on the tax calendar and the dates for direct debit of taxes and fees, while the administrators will convey these obligations and the tax advantages linked to the direct debit of certain payments to the communities.
The cooperation extends to areas such as urban planning, universal accessibility, the environment, safety, taxation, and building rehabilitation. It also covers Technical Building Inspection and Building Evaluation Inspection (ITE-IEE), aid and grants, public ornamentation, selective waste collection, recycling, energy saving, responsible water consumption, and accident and fire prevention.
The mayor has highlighted the practical usefulness of the protocol for residents:
“This agreement allows us to establish more direct and effective communication with professionals who represent and manage the day-to-day affairs of numerous property owner communities in our municipality, facilitating procedures and ensuring that municipal information reaches them in a more agile manner.”
Lara added that property administrators are “a fundamental channel for understanding the concerns of thousands of owners firsthand and for conveying information of interest to the communities.” The protocol also includes the college's participation in municipal programs and commissions related to urban planning, the environment, safety, culture, and communication, as well as the dissemination of regulatory updates, workshops, and training activities.
To coordinate the implementation of the measures, evaluate results, and promote new avenues of cooperation, a joint monitoring committee will be established, which will meet at least once a year. The signing reinforces a collaboration that has already been developing in recent years, with the college's participation in the Drought Table and in permanent information and consultation channels, such as the wildfire prevention bulletins.
