IM Motors, MG's premium brand, and designer Jimmy Choo have signed a limited edition of the electric L6 featuring haute couture details. The inspiration is the blue satin shoe that Choo created for Princess Diana.

IM Motors, the premium brand of MG in some markets, has announced a collaboration with designer Jimmy Choo to create a special edition of the new L6 electric, as reported by Diario Sur. The model, called IM L6 x Jimmy Choo Bespoke Limited Edition, combines electric technology with elements of haute couture and is inspired by one of the designer's most recognisable creations: the blue satin shoes he made for the Princess of Wales, Diana, a regular client of the brand.

Choo's work has focused on the vehicle's interior, where that bespoke blue hue appears. The same colour is repeated in the brake calipers. Glass is another material that the designer has used for small details both in the bodywork and in the cabin, such as the brand logo, crafted from this material, or the covers of the exterior cameras, which mimic its finish.

The mechanical base remains unchanged. The L6 range incorporates a new electrical and electronic architecture called NEO, combined with an 800-volt system. The company has not specified which variant (Max, Pro Max or L6 Ultra) has been chosen for this edition, so its performance and price are still unknown. For reference, the top-of-the-range L6 starts at around 42,000 euros, an amount that this version will far exceed.

The edition will be limited to 1,000 units and will be primarily aimed at the Chinese market. It is one of the first major bets by the SAIC Motors group to carve out a niche among premium manufacturers.
