Around 150 people attended the charity dinner at the Convento de Santo Domingo, organised by the Town Hall and other entities. The mayor thanked the solidarity of Ronda.
The city of Ronda has shown its solidarity with the victims of the double earthquake in Venezuela through a charity dinner held this Thursday at the Convento de Santo Domingo. Approximately 150 people participated in the event, which was part of the activities leading up to the Feria y Fiestas de Pedro Romero.
The dinner was organised by the Town Hall of Ronda, the Association of Brotherhoods and Cofradías of Ronda, Cáritas Interparroquial Ronda, and the President and the Goyescas Ladies. Among the attendees was the mayor, Mari Paz Fernández, who thanked everyone present for their collaboration.
During the evening, raffles were held, including one for a matón de Manila and a Ronda fan donated by the president of the Goyescas Ladies, Milagros Naranjo. The Hermanos Domínguez from Seville also performed, among other activities.
The two earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5, occurred on June 24 in Venezuela, just seconds apart. The most affected regions were the state of La Guaira and its surroundings, with over 5,000 fatalities and more than 15,000 injured. Among them, over 50 Spaniards are missing and more than 139 are unaccounted for in total, according to the latest data.
