The City Council of Ronda, along with several local entities, has organised a charity dinner to raise funds for those affected by the double earthquake that struck Venezuela on June 24, which has caused over 5,000 deaths.
The mayor of Ronda, Mari Paz Fernández, presented this Wednesday a charity dinner aimed at raising funds for the victims of the double earthquake that devastated Venezuela on June 24. The significant earthquake has left more than 5,000 dead, 15,000 injured, and thousands displaced, in addition to extensive material damage.
The event will take place on August 27 at 21:00 in the courtyard of the Convent of Santo Domingo, as part of the pre-festival activities for the Feria and Fiestas de Pedro Romero. The donation to attend is 45 euros, and the evening will feature performances by Los hermanos Domínguez from Seville, as well as a DJ to entertain the night.
Additionally, various gifts donated by the president of the Damas Goyescas, Milagros Naranjo, and the Damas Goyescas themselves will be raffled, including a Manila shawl and a Ronda fan. The organisation of the dinner has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Group of Brotherhoods and Confraternities of Ronda, chaired by Carlos Ramírez, and Cáritas Interparroquial Ronda, represented by Isabel Lobato, from the parishes of Socorro, Santa Cecilia, and Padre Jesús.
During the presentation, the mayor was accompanied by the councillor for Festivals, Rebeca Muñoz, and several Damas Goyescas. Fernández highlighted the city's solidarity: “From Ronda, we want to do our bit and help in this way. We are a city of solidarity, and I am convinced that we will break attendance records.”

A zero row has also been set up for those who wish to contribute without attending the dinner.
This initiative adds to other solidarity actions promoted from the province of Málaga to alleviate the effects of the disaster in Venezuela. The dinner on August 27 not only aims to raise funds but also to raise awareness among citizens about the serious situation facing the Caribbean country.
The Convent of Santo Domingo, the venue for the event, is an emblematic space in Ronda that usually hosts cultural and charitable events. The choice of location reflects the intention to create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere, where attendees can enjoy a pleasant evening while contributing to a humanitarian cause.
The City Council of Ronda hopes that the public response will be massive, as has happened on other occasions in response to solidarity calls.
