The Cruz Roja campaign in Nerja, supported by the Town Hall, will allow families with fewer resources to apply for help with school materials for the 2026/2027 academic year. The deadline for submitting documentation will be from 3 to 17 September.
Families in Nerja who need support to cover the expenses of the upcoming school year can now prepare their documentation. The Local Assembly of Cruz Roja, in collaboration with the Town Hall through the departments of Social Services and Education, is launching a new edition of its campaign to support school materials under the slogan “For a back to school, equal for all@”.
The aim is for children to have the necessary materials to start classes on equal terms, as explained by the local president of Cruz Roja, Damián Toboso. The initiative is aimed at families in the municipality that need it most, at a time of year when spending on books, backpacks, and other supplies represents a considerable financial burden for many households.
The deadline for submitting applications will be open from 3 to 17 September. Requests can be processed Monday to Friday, from 10:30 to 13:30 hours, at the Local Assembly of Cruz Roja Nerja, located at Calle Carmen, number 1, in the basement of the Town Hall.
The councillors for Education and Social Services, Ana María Muñoz and Daniel Rivas, have positively assessed the collaboration with Cruz Roja Nerja to develop social and educational initiatives. Both have encouraged interested families to seek information and submit their documentation within the established deadline to benefit from this assistance.
The campaign is part of the ongoing work that both entities carry out throughout the year, with special attention to periods when family expenses increase, such as the start of the school year. Families wishing to participate must go to the humanitarian organization's headquarters with the required documentation, which can be consulted at the centre itself or through the official channels of the Town Hall.
