The City Council of Ronda awarded the prizes for the second 'Decorate Your Booth' contest on Tuesday, recognising the decoration of the booths at the Pedro Romero Fair. El Botijo, El Catite and Las Gitanillas received the first, second and third prizes, worth €800, €700 and €600.
The El Botijo Association, the El Catite Association of Ronda and the Las Gitanillas Association have won the second 'Decorate Your Booth' contest, promoted by the municipal company Turismo de Ronda, S. A. and the Association of Ronda Associations (ASOPE). The award ceremony took place on Tuesday afternoon in the courtyard of the Convent of Santo Domingo.
The first prize, worth €800 and a diploma, went to El Botijo; the second, worth €700 and a diploma, to El Catite; and the third, worth €600 and a diploma, to Las Gitanillas. The mayor of Ronda, Mari Paz Fernández, presented the awards.
The jury was composed of the Councillor for Tourism, Ángel Martínez; the president of ASOPE, Juan Diego Rodríguez; and Javier Mañas, a tourism professional from Ronda. The members visited the participating booths in the Ángel Harillo Fairground and assessed the Ronda identity, traditional atmosphere, aesthetic care, originality and creativity.

The mayor thanked the association members for their involvement in organising the Fair. "I want to thank you all for your participation and for this to help continue to enhance our Fair," she said.
The diplomas were collected by Cándido Ruiz, president of El Botijo; Ramón Flores, president of Las Gitanillas; and Ana María Huesa, representing El Catite. The initiative aims to promote the atmosphere in the Real during the Pedro Romero Fair and Festivals.
