Turismo de Ronda and ASOPE launch the second edition of the booth decoration contest. Each group will receive 500 euros for participating, and the three best designs will compete for prizes of up to 800 euros.
The Ronda City Council, through the municipal company Turismo de Ronda and the Association of Ronda Groups (ASOPE), has presented the second edition of the booth decoration contest that will be set up in the fairgrounds during the Pedro Romero Fair, which starts in the coming days.
The Councillor for Tourism, José Antonio Martínez, explained that this contest is part of other initiatives launched in recent years, such as the photographic contests for Holy Week and Carnival, aimed at supporting local groups and encouraging citizen participation in annual events.
Martínez highlighted that the groups set up booths that, except for specific moments, remain open to the public and become "the home of all Rondeños". He thanked the work of ASOPE, which he considers "essential" for residents and visitors to enjoy an extraordinary atmosphere during the week of festivities.
"With actions like these, the Ronda City Council continues to promote the growth of our fair year after year, in a special edition where this time we all share the feeling of reclaiming what our fair was, with all the bullfighting festivities that we will be able to enjoy in our city," he stated.
Participating booths will receive 500 euros just for registering. Additionally, a designated jury will evaluate the decorations and award a first prize of 800 euros, a second of 700 euros, and a third of 600 euros.
The president of ASOPE, Juan Diego Rodríguez, thanked the municipal collaboration, which has also resulted in a change of the association's corporate image. He invited the groups to excel in their decoration and reminded that last year the jury had to resolve a technical tie due to the excellence of the submitted works.
The contest is part of a very special edition of the fair, in which the Goyesca bullfight is being revived, one of the most anticipated bullfighting events. Martínez also expressed his gratitude to the president and the Damas Goyescas for their work in recent years.
