The night of August 14 will kick off the Málaga Fair with a dual show of drones and a 20-minute pyromusical display.
The Málaga Fair 2026 will be inaugurated on the night of Friday, August 14, with a dual show of drones and fireworks that promises to be the most spectacular opening in recent years. The Málaga City Council has confirmed that 440 drones will soar through the sky of the capital to create 14 three-dimensional images before the traditional pyromusical display begins.
The drones, managed by Umiles Entertainment, will launch from two simultaneous points: the Dique de Levante and San Andrés. Starting at 23:50, 220 devices at each location will elevate a ten-minute show visible from up to 500 meters away. They will fly at about 100 meters high, within a safety perimeter, so they will never fly over the attendees.
According to the company, these unmanned aerial vehicles can reproduce up to 16 million shades, allowing for the creation of highly complex visual compositions. The initiative combines cutting-edge technology with visual art, making it one of the most ambitious proposals of the Andalusian fairs this summer.
The pyromusical show
After the drones, starting at midnight, the fireworks display will commence, managed by Pirotecnia Zaragozana. A total of 5,694 shots will be launched from the access road to the cruise terminal, with a gross weight of over one ton and 500 kilos of gunpowder. The 20-minute show will be synchronized with nine musical tracks ranging from 'Infinity' by Alex Christensen to 'Eloise' by Nancys Rubias, including classics by Sergio Dalma and Rosa López.
Both shows are sponsored by El Corte Inglés and Mahou-San Miguel, who have previously collaborated on Málaga's festivities. The City Council recommends that attendees arrive early to the designated areas to enjoy the views, especially around the port and the Paseo de la Farola, although the show will be visible from much of the coastline of the capital.
With this dual event, the Málaga Fair 2026 officially opens its festive programme, which will continue in the following days with booths, concerts, and activities for all audiences. The weather forecast for the night of August 14 indicates clear skies, according to initial estimates, which would allow both shows to shine fully.
