The drone show, featuring 440 devices and 14 3D images, will start at 23:50 from the Dique de Levante and San Andrés. This will be followed by a 20-minute pyromusical display with over a tonne of gunpowder.
The countdown has ended. The Málaga Fair 2026 will officially begin tonight at midnight with a dual spectacle that will combine technology and pyrotechnics over the bay. Preliminary events will kick off at 23:50, with two simultaneous drone displays from the Dique de Levante and San Andrés.
In total, 440 drones (220 at each location) will form 14 three-dimensional images visible from up to 500 metres away. The devices will fly at an altitude of about 100 metres within a safety perimeter, ensuring they do not fly over people, according to Umiles Entertainment, the company responsible for the setup.
The drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, can replicate up to 16 million different shades. The light show, sponsored by El Corte Inglés and Mahou-San Miguel, will last ten minutes and will be followed by the fireworks display.
The pyrotechnics will be handled by Pirotecnia Zaragozana, which will launch 5,694 shots from the access road to the cruise terminal. The gross mass exceeds one tonne, and 500 kilos of gunpowder will be burned during the 20-minute duration, accompanied by nine musical tracks ranging from 80s classics to current versions.
Among the chosen songs are 'Infinity' by Alex Christensen, 'Smalltown Boy' in Ronan Keating's version, 'Nothing Compares 2 U', and several tracks by Sergio Dalma such as 'Centro de gravedad permanente' and 'Rumore'. Also featured will be 'Yo quiero verte danzar', 'Yo no soy esa' by Rosa López, 'Las campanas del amor' by Owo, and 'Eloise' by Nancys Rubias.
For attendees, the City Council recommends arriving early at the viewing points of the bay and respecting the safety perimeters. After the dual spectacle, the fair will continue with the opening of the entrances and the lighting of the streets in the centre, marking the start of a week of celebrations.
