The Town Hall of Alhaurín de la Torre completes this week its paving plan with night works on Camino Número Uno, Avenida Portales del Peñón, and Camino del Río. One lane will be closed in each direction from 11 PM.
The paving and improvement plan for Alhaurín de la Torre, with an investment of over 200,000 euros, is nearing its final phase. In the early hours of Thursday 10 to Friday 11 September, various sections of Camino Número Uno, Avenida Portales del Peñón, and Camino del Río, also known as the Atraque, in Zapata will be paved.
The work will begin at 11 PM on Avenida Portales del Peñón, at the height of the Arcos de Zapata. One of the two lanes in each direction will be closed, leaving the other free for traffic, with traffic regulated by workers with paddles at both ends. As in previous phases, night work has been chosen to reduce inconvenience to drivers.
The plan, commissioned by the mayor, Joaquín Villanova, and coordinated by the Department of Works and Operational Services led by Rodrigo Jiménez, covers the rehabilitation of over 9,400 square meters of roadway. Paving has already been completed in sections of the Ribera road and in the area of the La Máquina estate.
The actions include clearing and cleaning of margins with invasive vegetation, repair of deteriorated surfaces, construction of stone retaining walls on the Ribera and Número Uno roads (270 meters in length and 810 cubic meters in volume), paving with hot bituminous mix, and adjustment of wells and manholes to the new level.
This intervention responds to community demands and the municipal obligation to maintain the road network in good condition, especially in areas providing access to agricultural operations, scattered housing, and developments.
