The Town Hall of Alhaurín de la Torre has published the bases to fill 13 positions for Local Police officers, corresponding to the Public Employment Offer for 2026.
The Official Bulletin of the Province of Málaga (BOP) has published the bases for the call to cover 13 new positions for Local Police officers in Alhaurín de la Torre, a decision that reinforces the municipal body's expansion plan.
Positions distributed across three access routes
The call includes nine positions through open competition via the opposition system. In addition, there are two positions for mobility without promotion, which will be resolved through a merit competition, and another two reserved for professional military personnel, also through opposition. Should these last positions remain unfilled, they will be added to the open competition.
The bases regulate the participation requirements and the selection system, which includes a theoretical-practical exam, physical tests, psychotechnical evaluation, and medical examination. Those who pass the process must complete an entry course and a period of practical training within the municipal staff.
Application period not yet open
The Town Hall reminds that the application submission period is not yet open. This will begin once the announcement of the call is published in the Official State Bulletin (BOE), at which point candidates will have 20 working days to formalise their application.
This offer adds to the selection process carried out in recent months to fill another nine positions for Local Police, whose candidates took office as probationary officials last June. Eight of them entered through open competition and one through mobility, and they are currently completing the training course before their incorporation into service in the municipality, expected in the coming months.
Reinforcement of the staff to improve security
With these thirteen new positions, the Town Hall continues to advance towards the goal set by the mayor, Joaquín Villanova, to reinforce the Local Police staff. The aim is to improve the operational capacity of the body and adapt human resources to the municipality's growth and the needs in terms of public safety.
For the residents of Alhaurín de la Torre, this expansion means an increase in police presence on the streets and a quicker response to incidents, especially in newly developed areas. The Town Hall expects the new officers to be operational throughout 2027, once they have completed the training processes.
Interested parties can consult the complete bases in the BOP and on the Town Hall's notice board. It is recommended to stay alert for the publication in the BOE to avoid missing the application deadline.
